LED lighting

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits incoherent narrow-spectrum light. In 1950s Rubin Braunstein of the Radio Corporation of America demonstrated infrared emission from gallium arsenide (GaAs) for the first time. Further development in the last years of 20th century made it possible to produce LEDs on a large scale that were powerful enough to compete with incandescent lamps.
Using LEDs to illuminate rooms is becoming more popular also in Poland. At the moment, because of the clear advantages of LED lighting in comparison with traditional lamps, they are being used more and more often - especially in contemporary projects. For furniture lighting, LEDs provide a perfect solution for many reasons - small size, aesthetic look and a host of benefits, which give a unique effect.

  • Features of LED lighting:

    • Minimum space requirements.

    • High energy-efficiency.

    • LEDs can be chosen to emit specific colours of light - no colour filters are required.

    • LEDs are very durable. They are shock and vibration resistant, unlike traditional lighting.

    • LEDs have an enormously long life span - about 10 years! This is twenty times longer then the best incandescent bulbs.

    • They emit much less heat than typical bulbs. Thus it is possible to install them in temperature- sensitive places (such as a wooden wardrobe ceiling )

    • Switch-on time is about 10 times shorter in LEDs than in incandescent bulbs and is approximately 0.01 s.

  • Where does the system apply:

    • Room lighting

    • Illuminating the inside of wardrobes and lighting the shelves.

    • Hidden colourful highlighting of stairs, boards, pictures...
